WEST VANCOUVER MEMORIAL LIBRARY

The West Vancouver Memorial Library is made up of an original heritage building and four additions. Divided between 6 levels, including 2 half-level mezzanines, the space is quite the puzzle to navigate. For the signage, the approach is a consistent, bright and modern blue band of information in key views and at decision points. Drawn from the library’s new brand and website design, the blue band is a conceptual reference to the location of information.

An exploded axonometric directory makes sense of the labyrinthine space and aids visitors in their understanding of the building and the wayfinding throughout.

The multi-phased project has involved multiple iterations of signage plans and messaging schedules, sign type design and development.
